Hey! I’m Shari! Master Esthetician, educator, and your go-to girl for fixing the ✨vibe✨ in your beauty school or spa.
I didn’t start out with a plan to become a “culture coach.”
In fact… the real reason I enrolled in esthetics school was so I could get my shampoo and hair products wholesale. 🫣😅
(Yep. That’s the truth. Don’t judge—I know a good deal when I see one.)
But once I got there? I found my passion.
Of course I fell in love with skincare, treating clients, and all things retinol. But the real spark? It came in the classroom. I absolutely loved being with students! Helping new estheticians discover their confidence, their talent, and find their own spot in the beauty industry.
That love for education grew into something bigger. I found myself wanting to support not just students, but instructors to help them find their voice, perfect their craft, and become engaging, empowered educators.
Fast forward 10+ years and I’ve now worked in just about every role a beauty school has to offer. Front desk, admin, curriculum builder, lead instructor, staff development. I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and what really affects the energy of a classroom or spa.
I’ve been part of incredible teams. But I’ve also been in the thick of it when one team member brings down the whole vibe and no one knows how to address it. I’ve been the new instructor with zero classroom training, just trying to figure out how to handle student conflict, motivate disinterested learners, and hold my ground without turning into a dictator.
And I’ve been the educator who just wanted to be a better communicator. A better leader. A better coach because that’s what this job really is.
That’s where Backbar Culture Coaching comes in.
I built this because I know the daily struggles beauty schools and spas face. I’ve lived them. And I wanted to create something that actually helps.
Not a one-time hype session or a fluffy training with no follow through.
Something real. Actionable. Empowering.
